Register to Join the AI for Public Health Track at NACCHO360 this July

New this year, NACCHO360 introduces a dedicated AI for Public Health track—built specifically for local health departments. This 10-session track focuses on practical, real-world applications of AI, including AI literacy, public health communications, ethics and governance, procurement considerations, and applied use cases grounded in lessons learned from researchers and peer local health departments. Designed for multiple experience levels, the track supports departments that are just beginning to explore AI as well as those already piloting tools. Sessions center on what AI can and cannot do today—helping teams cut through the hype, assess readiness, and make informed, responsible decisions. Attendees who complete the full track will receive a certificate of completion. Learn more.

Hantavirus Outbreak Resources for Local Health Departments

As the Andes virus outbreak linked to cruise ship travel continues to develop, NACCHO is actively monitoring the situation and working to ensure local health departments (LHDs) have timely information and resources they need to respond. Learn more and access resources for LHDs here. This blog post will be updated as the situation evolves.

Local Health Departments Urged to Stay Alert as Ebola Situation Evolves

NACCHO is monitoring the evolving Ebola virus disease outbreaks in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda and working to ensure local health departments have timely information and resources to respond. Following a May 19 Health Alert Network Advisory from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and updated travel notices for both countries, NACCHO is encouraging local health departments to stay informed as the situation develops. The organization is also asking health departments actively engaged in outbreak response to share their experiences through a brief form. Click here to learn more about recent updates.
